Members of Moonrakers bring their exciting and dynamic folk music to week-long, weekend and day courses across the UK. Whether you play fiddle, fretted instruments, whistles, flute, or simply like to sing, you’re welcome. We’ll have parts for any instrument you bring. We’ll work through a variety of arrangements of folk tunes and songs throughout the courses. You don’t need to read music, but some instrumental or vocal experience is required. Your principal tutors are Jon Bennett (guitar, bouzouki, ukulele, whistles) and Jacqui Johnson (cello, fiddle, keyboard). The workshop usually conclude with a short concert from the course participants’ folk orchestra showcasing the musical achievements of the course, and members of Moonrakers will also play a few tunes. If you have any questions about this, call 01865 769206 or 07914 79 5823.
