Malin Lewis is a musician, composer, instrument maker and educator who grew up in Moidart and Skye in the north west of Scotland. Malin plays bagpipes, fiddle and whistle and is well versed in the west coast piping traditions. Described by Radio 4's Front Row as a rising star, by Radio 3 as a cutting edge creator and as "the future of Scottish folk" by The Wire magazine.
Malin will be performing in Baulking with revered Scandinavian musician Marit Falt who is steeped in both Scandinavian folk and Scottish traditional music. She has performed as a solo artist and as part of a group but for this show this pair of fine musicians will be combining for an evening of hair tingling, dance inducing melodies from European and Scottish folk traditions.
