Music at the Unicorn

Music At The Unicorn is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers. We bring brilliant musicians, singers and songwriters to Abingdon and we also give opportunities to local upcoming musicians. We give them a stage and let them play to an appreciative and knowledgeable audience.

The Unicorn Theatre is a stunning, intimate venue and originally constructed in the 14th century, the theatre is housed in a small complex of building thats once belonged to Abingdon's magnificant Benedictine Abbey, which was dissolved under Henry VIII's reign.

Music at The Unicorn: Sandy Denny Project - Dec 5th

The Sandy Denny Project

December 5th
Doors: 7pm - Music: 7.30pm
Tickets: £20 - Available online or Mostly Books, 36 Stert Street, Abingdon, OX14 3JP (cash only)

The Sandy Denny Project formed in 2017 to recognize and to celebrate the music of the late Sandy Denny, who is considered a founder of the British folk-rock movement, and perhaps its most important female singer. Sandy died in 1978, however her songs remain as fresh, poignant and as beautiful today as the time that they were penned. The repertoire of The Sandy Denny Project reflects the amazing legacy of work left behind by Sandy, through her work with the early incarnations of Fairport Convention, the sublime Fotheringay, and also her incredible repertoire of solo work.
