May Day events, and more online concerts...

Paul Sartin May Day special

Paul’s concert at Folk Weekend was incredibly special, so we immediately booked him in for another! Paul will be playing a lunchtime concert on 1st May, and tickets are already selling fast! Book yours by clicking here.

Thank you to everyone who filled in our feedback survey - we had an overwhelming response and actually exceeded the capacity we had on our free survey plan so apologies to anyone who wasn’t able to access it! Congratulations to Roger who won the ticket to Paul’s concert.

Virtual May Day Choir

If you love singing then you’re in for a treat as we’ve got a BRAND NEW May carol for you, written by Festival Director Cat McGill and everyone’s favourite concertina player - you’ve guessed it, Paul Sartin! We will be releasing it officially on Friday 1st May but you can have a sneak preview by clicking here...

We’d love you all to record yourself singing along and send it to us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. - we’ll stitch it together into one big virtual May choir video. You can access lyrics and a score from the link above, and recordings of each voice part for you to sing along to.

Kitchen Ceilidh #2

The Kitchen ceilidh was one of my favourite festival moments - it was pure joy to watch everyone dancing with teddies, mops, brooms, and each other! We had an overwhelming response asking us to do it again, so we’ve obliged - on Friday May 1st from 7.30pm you can round off your May Day festivities with a dance. Click here to book tickets.

And more...

We’re currently in the process of booking in more concerts over the next few months. We know that Zoom isn’t for everyone, but for us there’s nothing like it to get that live gig experience. We’ve already booked in another show with Hannah James on Sunday 24th May, and are in discussions with other artists. We simply don’t know when we might be able to go to live events again, so we’re going to keep doing this for as long as there are artists who want to play and audience members who want to watch them. If you’ve got any requests for your favourite artists do let us know - geography is no limitation currently so tell us your fantasy festival lineups!

Festival Merch

Those lovely chaps at Mudchutney are doing great work supporting the folk scene with amazing merch, so do check them out. You can buy Folk Weekend lockdown items alongside merch from other festivals and eminent folk artists - and we all get a cut so you’re supporting us as well.
