Narthen - Sarah Matthews, Doug Eunson, Fi Fraser and Jo Freya
After their last packed visit, we are so pleased that Narthen is returning to Oxfolk at Kennington Village Centre. They are an exciting, joyous and sometimes surprising quartet of family and friends: Jo Freya on sax, clarinet and whistles, Fi Fraser on fiddle and hammered dulcimer, Sarah Matthews on viola and fiddle, and Doug Eunson on melodeon. They are all superb dance musicians, interpreters of traditional tunes, and composers. Collectively they are also members of dance bands such as Blowzabella, Token Women, Old Swan Band, Moirai and Cupola.
Jo and Fi make a wonderful calling double act, as you'll know if you've ever seen them with Token Women. The dances they choose are fun, varied and perfectly paired with the music the band plays.
Non-gendered calls will be used.
This month Abingdon Traditional Morris Dancers will perform their famous mummers play!
Doors 7.30pm, dancing from 8 until 11pm.
There is a licensed bar with ale, cider, wine and soft drinks.
