Triptych

"One of the best bands I saw all week [at Sidmouth Folk Week]" -- Richard Arrowsmith; Hekety, Glorystrokes, The Melrose Quartet

"... your music was wonderfully energetic, very danceable, and we're looking forward to you coming to Unicorn." -- Theo Thomas; Unicorn Ceilidhs

"... really excellent... Great combinations and changes of instruments and arrangements, and very danceable too." -- Vicky Lindsay; Phoenix Ceilidhs

"I'll put in my vote for Triptych; came across as a mix of early Hekety and the Gloworms (hopefully praise indeed ;-)" -- Martin Kiff; Webfeet [A discussion on the eceilidh mailing list about ceilidhs at Sidmouth Folk Week.]

Triptych are a new ceilidh band who made their debut at the Anchor gardens, as part of Sidmouth Folk Week 2011.

They draw their material from a variety of sources; largely English and English-style tunes (including some self-penned), but their search for awesome tunes has also taken them further in to Europe - their set list currently includes a waltz from Belgium and a Swedish schottis!

The debut gig at the Anchor was a huge success, and Triptych are already in demand to play at ceilidh series all over the country as a result.

Triptych are: Jamie Huddlestone (melodeon, guitar), Cat Kelly (fiddle, flute) and Oli Matthews (saxophone, melodeon). The variety of instrumental combinations makes for very interesting listening, and the fact that all three are seasoned ceilidh musicians means that the music is irresistible to the feet as well as the ears!
