Albireo boasts a huge repertoire of tunes, played with verve and stretching from 17th century English country dance music to American reels (via a few other places).

The line-up is: Tom Kitching (also of Pilgrim’s Way) on fiddle and mandolin, Howard Jones on melodeon, Anglo concertina and hammered dulcimer, Steve Hodgskiss on piano and English concertina, Peter Crowther on bass guitar and keyboard and Sean Bechhofer on guitar.

Albireo has just released their second album, Binary (… hey, just in time for some Christmas shopping – you’re sure to be able to buy a copy.)

This evening’s caller Lisa Heywood, one of the newer generation of callers, has a superb collection of dances that perfectly matches the band’s breadth and variety. It’s great to see her back at Oxfolk again!

Chipping Norton Singers, directed by our old friend Cat Kelly, will be entertaining us at half time with some seasonal songs. Quite the perfect Christmas party, really!
