Banbury Folk Festival is happening on the weekend of 10th - 12th October!
The Festival headliners are John Tams and Barry Coope on Friday and Anthony John Clarke on Saturday. Festival patron Isla St Clair makes a welcome return to the festival on Saturday and also Banbury favourites, Something Nasty in the Woodshed.
The Festival will be centred around Banbury Town Hall, where there will be extra concerts using the new function room as well as the main hall. Other events will take place at Drayton Leisure Golf Centre, Banbury Folk Club’s great new venue at the Banbury Cross and at the Reindeer Inn.
In addition to the main headliners there will be some excellent bands like King's Gambit, The Kevin O'Regan Band, The Linda Watkins Band and Scarecrow. There will be the ever popular Big Sing at Drayton Leisure Golf Centre and a rollicking shanty session on Sunday with The She-Shanties and Sharp as Razors.
Acoustic concerts will feature a range of artists both nationally known and local and our new Folk Club venue at the Banbury Cross, only five minutes walk from the Town Hall will feature Folk Club sessions with booked artists, plus opportunities to perform yourselves throughout the weekend. Add to that our usual music and song sessions, storytelling, workshops and dance events and you are in for a great weekend!
Camping is once again at Drayton Leisure Golf Centre with a free shuttle bus running between here and the Town Hall. Camping is permitted as part of the weekend ticket. Please note that there will be no 'Camping Only' spaces available this year as the campsite is needed for those purchasing tickets and our artists and stewards.
Although we are no longer using The Mill Arts Centre, which is now too costly for us, we are confident that we have put together a festival which retains the elements that our regular supporters love about Banbury! A high quality line-up for a low price, plenty of opportunities to participate and a friendly atmosphere!
Tickets are only £45 for the weekend (plus £2 admin. charge) available on-line via Paypal through the Festival website, www.banburyfolkfestival.co.uk ,where there is also a down-loadable booking form if you prefer to pay by cheque. Day tickets are also available. Alternatively pick up a flier at Banbury Folk Club or one of the summer festivals or e-mail us with your address and we will post you one.
Hope you can join us!
